Instructor: Samantha Loftin
A Peg Loom is an old, simple loom that is easy to learn and needs no special equipment or tools. The simplicity of the loom makes it especially fun to weave with a variety of materials, such as fleece, wool locks, roving, cloth, plastic strips, and any type of yarn!
Students will learn how to warp and weave on a handmade peg loom. Samantha will guide you through techniques including cutting cloth strips efficiently, plain weaving, color changes, clasp-weft weaving and different finishing methods. Everyone will complete a hot pad to take home.
No experience is necessary.
All materials and tools for weaving your hot pad will be provided. Looms used in class will be available to purchase for $40 after class.
Please bring scissors and a measuring tape.
