Beginning Rigid Heddle Weaving
Instructor: Stacy Schulze
Curious about these simple looms? Have one, but aren't sure how to warp it? In this workshop, you'll learn how to warp the loom, how to weave with it, and how to remove and finish your project. You should be able to complete a scarf or a set of coasters. Be prepared to weave at home between sessions.
Bring scissors and a notebook. Also bring any yarn from home you'd like to play with! No matter how weird!
Registration for this class will reserve a class loom for you to borrow and use for class dates. In order to take the loom with you for the week between (generally required if you'd like to finish a long piece), we require a credit card or check to be held while the loom is out for the week.
If you own a working* rigid heddle loom, 20" or narrower, you are welcome to bring it to class. Let us know, as more class spots may be available if you're bringing your own!
Classes are held at our new classroom location on the second floor of 1099 Stewart St. in Seattle, 98101.
*Working means your loom is properly assembled, all parts are functioning and you have a 7.5 or 8D reed that fits. Contact us if you are unsure.
Wednesdays, July 11th, 2-5pm & July 18th, 2-4pm
2 Spots left!
