Intro To Weaving: 2-Day Scarf and Project
Instructor: Stacy Schulze
This is a two part class.
In the first two days (part one) of this introductory class you will delve into multi-shaft (multi-harness) weaving by setting up and weaving a simple twill scarf. Class looms are currently 25" 4-shaft table looms. Class loom usage is included and required for this project.
Warp materials are provided, you must bring your own weft. Weft should be 9-18 wraps per inch (sport to worsted weight). Many weft options are available for purchase from The Weaving Works with your student discount. Note that the retail store closes July 29th, so take advantage of your discount before then!
- Pencil and notebook
- Weft yarn - sport to worsted weight - 200 yards
- Measuring tape and scissors, if you have them
- Lunch and snacks (there are numerous options in the neighborhood as well)
By registering for this class, you will also be registered in the accompanying Warp Review & Project Planning class (part two) on Tuesday August 15th from 10am-3pm.
