Intro To Weaving: 2-Day Scarf and Project - MAY (SOLD OUT)

Instructor: Jessica Owens

This is a two part class.

In the first two days (part one) of this introductory class you will delve into multi-shaft (multi-harness) weaving by setting up and weaving a simple twill scarf. Class looms are currently 25" 4-shaft table looms. Class loom usage is included and required for this project.

Warp materials are provided, you must bring your own weft. Weft should be 9-18 wraps per inch (sport to worsted weight). Many weft options are available for purchase from The Weaving Works with your student discount.

Bring:

  • Pencil and notebook
  • Weft yarn - sport to worsted weight - 200 yards
  • Measuring tape and scissors, if you have them
  • Lunch and snacks (there are numerous options in the neighborhood as well)

By registering for this class, you will also be registered in the accompanying Warp Review & Project Planning class (part two) on Friday, June 2nd from 10am-2pm. You will be able to rent your class loom to work at home on a project of your choice, planning and beginning it in this last class. Rental fees for current students after the Warp Review & Project Planning class is $5 per week.
