Intermediate Tapestry Weaving

This two-day class is designed to take your journey into tapestry a little further. You will explore some of the more complicated techniques in more depth to enhance your weaving skills.
You will learn the basics of weaving circles, explore pickup extensively, create textures with eccentric warps, and learn how to make rya knots. You will also delve deeper into the use of color and blending techniques, and discover the wonder of transparency. There will be time to discuss and and practice different warping and finishing techniques. You will go home with a few samplers to use as a reference for your future tapestries.
PREREQUISITE: You must have woven at least 4 pieces, taken off the loom and finished, any size.
This class will be held at an instructor's studio on Queen Anne with ample street parking. Address will be sent via email after registration.
INCLUDES: Course handouts and use of instructor's handspun yarns.
- Your tapestry loom, warped at 8epi and 4” wide
- appropriate weft yarns for 8epi
- scissors, bobbins, and other weaving notions
