Weaving Projects: Dishtowels
Instructor: Marcy Johnson
This class will include sessions for yarn choice, group warping, cut-off and finishing. Towels will be woven in plain (tabby) weave and a pattern weave will be chosen by the students. We will play with color and fiber content. Students will plan, calculate, and wind warps, thread floor looms and weave a towel or two on each loom. The number of projects will depend on the number of students in the class. Students will do some homework outside of class time.
Supply cost will vary according to yarns the group chooses to weave with. Payment for yarn used will be collected upon completion of towels.
The first session of class will take place at The Weaving Works for yarn selection. The weaving sessions will take place at Marcy’s studio on west Queen Anne (good parking). Dress in layers as the studio is in the garage- with great views! You will be emailed driving directions before class.
