Double Wall Cedar Basket (SOLD OUT)
Instructor: Sue Marvin
This double-walled cedar basket contains the three main techniques of basketry: plaiting, twining, and coiling. Beginning with a twill base, the inner and outer walls are plaited cedar, with the outer wall divided by rows of three-strand twining with sedge. The rim of the basket is coiled with sedge but has dyed cedar woven through the coiling to create patterns. This technique is called beading and is often seen on imbricated baskets. The finished size of the basket is 6” x 4” x 4”.
