Cultivated silk cocoons are little bundles of potential! 

Once they are degummed, silk cocoons can release their fine filaments for spinning into smooth yarns or stretching into hankies or caps. These cocoons have been left intact, which means that the silk filament has not been severed, and the worm remains inside. 

Cocoons are hollow, and hold their shape, and can be cut apart to make sculptural jewelry or other small art pieces.

Silk takes acid dye readily, for vivid saturated colors, or can be left as undyed white. 

DHG's Cultivated Silkworm Cocoons have been treated exclusively with natural or organic products. The eggs of the silkworms are sourced from CREA in Padova and then raised in Italy with a special diet of only white mulberry leaves that have never undergone any type of chemical or pesticide treatment.
