A Handweaver's Pattern Book by Marguerite P Davison
The Handweaver's Pattern Book, first published in 1944, has widely become a favorite of weavers for its wealth of weaving drafts. This comprehensive collection of drafts for four harnesses goes from basic twills to complex overshot patterns, with everything in between. Drafts are given as simple diagrams, with black and white photographs of each weave pattern.
The author, Marguerite Porter Davison, an experienced and gifted handweaver, researched and photographed this extensive collection of traditional handweaving patterns. The book includes an introduction; a discussion and chart of comparative yarn sizes; a section entitled, "A Few Suggestions from Old Weavers"; and 21 chapters covering pattern groups and individual designs.
2007, 32nd printing. 216 pages, hard cover in dust jacket.
